RE: Loose dog attacked me and my dog

I have the opposite problem with my neo mastiff puppy... she is still being socialized and doesnt quite know her own strength yet - she is 100 lbs at 9 months. we are dry campers in the CA desert - where a lot of people like to allow their dogs to run loose, no leash. we dont believe in that. this is where my problem lies... my dog does not like to be run up on by other dogs, and therefore gets "defensive", which is not good for the other dogs. if she were to perceive an aggressor to me or one of the kids, there would be no holding her back. on leash with other dogs on leash, she is fine... I have had to warn people to take care of their dogs, as I cannot be sure of her reaction to being run up on. I wish people would quit with the "dog is friendly" and just obey leash laws - for my dogs good and theirs.

RE: TRVN malware removal

If your computer was affected: I don't believe it was linked to a specific post but rather the "New Posts" link. Once clicked on, it generated a generic pop up box with a warning message similar to something your Operating System or Internet security software would produce. Regardless of clicking on OK or Cancel it began downloading Cyber Security software etc onto your computer and once installed it hijacked your browser. If I had clicked on the Back button of the browser or Shift F4 (close window) instead the download could have been averted. I used the following link and 20 step process to quickly and easily scrub that junk/@#$% off my desktop and laptop. It took 20-30 minutes to accomplish but the computer is NOW protected with additional malware software. I hope this helps. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-cyber-security somewhere along the lines, my home computer picked this up... thanks for the info and how to remove it.

RE: Amazing Race Drop Outs

I think those poker playing girls should have been gone a long time ago. They only got as far as they did by teaming up with the gay brothers. They didn't even have to do the bell counting challenge because they were told the answer...I say fair well to them!It seems to me that they didn't complete the bell counting challenge. She didn't count a single bell! It made no difference in the end because of two strength requirement challenges that there was no option around. That part seemed biased and unfair. I agree, I think the girls got farther than they should have.. twice before they got lucky and werent eliminated, (non elimination leg, and the guys who lost their passport). and since it is getting closer to the end, the tasks should get harder..that way the weaker teams are eliminated. and hitting a big ball with a large club isnt that hard, really.

RE: New story regarding Ca. DMV

we have sold two vehicles in Ca with no problems. Also remember that Ca staff are working with 15% smaller staff because of furloughs. I learned if you go to the tired employees and say something like it must be tuff for you right now, that their whole out look toward me changes Because I understand their workload they tend to go more out of their way to help. Most of them are burnt out because people are upset with them before they even reach the worker because of the long lines. And this was before the furloughs. And it is not their fault they are short staffed. And know none of my family work for the state. No its not their fault they are short staffed, but you know if they worked as if they had a fire under their chair, it might not be as bad. anytime I have ever been to the DMV office, its like the workers are there until 5:30 so they dont care how long it takes, how slow they move or whether they get done or not. when I worked at a sandwich shop during college, our busiest time of day was lunch time. we MOVED during that time, to take care of the customers, get them their food and on their way. if they worked like that at the DMV, people wouldnt complain as much as they do.

RE: Halloween Trip

well the last 5 miles is better than the first part anyway.. and yes you stay straight up Bessemer. the only really bad part of the road is at the crest, where it gets a bit rocky. just take that slow and you will be fine. we have pulled our 30ft out there and have been fine.

RE: Halloween Trip

I would definitely recommend Johnson Valley... there is an area about 5 miles north of Soggy that we (D37 racing community) call the "rock pile"... its a pretty open area to camp. once you crest the road and start to go back down at about the 5 mile mark you can see on the left past the rock pile area. not bad camping there.

RE: parenting issue........

Wow... tough one, I am glad I am not in your shoes(though I have been more than once - I have 3, a 13 YO boy, a 10 YO boy and a 6 YO girl). The "Mommy" in me wants to say, take away all computer/electronic priviledges and let it be. However, the "MOM" in me wants to say grounded is grounded and that includes all such activities this weekend. I have had to make that choice with one of my boys before and I hated to do it to him, but he had to learn a lesson. I think the fact that the girls asked, were told explicitly no and then did it anyway is a fairly serious offense, IMHO. they knowingly did this behind your back, and if not properly punished, it could lead to them deciding that the "punishment" was worth trying that/or something worse again. Just something else to think about....

RE: Stoddard Wells, Hodge Road

Trust me a little name calling doesnt hurt my feelings... I am a big girl, I can take it. And no, it wasnt a joke, at least the way it was written. Yes it was a bad situation to be in, and yes there will be emotions, but dont categorize a whole group of people for the "supposed" actions of a few. all I was saying was that he was laying blame with a group of people to which he had no proof were the offenders. and he even alluded to this in his original statement about how many of the problems of the irresponsible use of the open OHV areas, are usually not the fault of true OHV users. and quite frankly I would have defended any area from "attack" on character without complete knowlegde or proof. Ok my rant is over.... happy riding everyone.

RE: Stoddard Wells, Hodge Road

Hello Everyone, Just a little rant and rave.....well actually the Rave is what I am ranting about. I was out there this weekend with the family enjoying the dez and Saturday night we start seeing a conga line of cars coming out. It ends up being a bunch of kids had set up a little Rave (party) in the desert. They are coming and going through out the night and I slept very little just thinking about what a bunch of wasted kids from Victimville, Crapple Valley, Phellon might do. I was too far away to really see what was going on but I did see the flashing strobe lights and hear the occasional base beat (it was pretty windy and I was upwind). Early morning arrives and as I take the dog out and I was surprised there were still about 30+ cars parked by the outhouse. I go back in and get settled for a little more shut eye and I hear this pa,pa...pa....pa,pa,pa, pa,pa...as each of my 4 dirtbikes, quad and then my motor home (about 20 times) gets pelted with paintballs as a small SUV with 4 teenage kids from the party drive in a circle around my camp. By the time I get out there they are too far away for me to do anything. Thoughts go through my mind, do I unlock the bikes and go chase...only the get beaten down (or worse) by 4 teens in much better shape than me....do I get the paint off the MH before it dries and causes more damage....I chose the later. As I am cleaning up the family is on watch out. I am just getting to the last paint mark and I hear, "they're coming again" I run around to the other side of the MH, they see me and turn around and head in the other direction and appear to leave the area, we did not see them again. A short time later 3 county police cars follow another truck up the road. They break up the party, kids are scurrying left and right. They make a few stay and clean up the trash but the outhouse was a graffiti and paint ball mess. As I left Sunday afternoon I made sure to pick up some of the trash that was already there when I arrived, as I usually do. This is the first time I actually witnessed and became a victim of the disrepect others have for our OHV areas and as I always suspected it was not my OHV brethren but a few local jerks that in the end will ruin it for the rest of us. Rant Over while I am just as OUTRAGED over what happened to you, the trash and the graffiti of these irresponsible kids... I take GREAT offense to your description of the high desert cities... You have absolutely NO PROOF where any of these teens/thugs/vandals came from and I think it is just as irresponsible to categorize the people of the high desert as you have. A lot of the kids that go to these parties come from ALL OVER So Cal. In the same sense that you dont want a few bad seeds to spoil the rest of the OHV community, you are appearing to categorize the entire high desert community to the likes of felons, victims and crap.

HockeyMom and Mr Sandman...thanks for the recommendation to McBrides. DH has been a technician there for 15 years, so I am a little biased....:) No way! Which is your husband?? They are our customer as well as servicing our RV. Have had many years of enjoyment from Charlie & Laura!:B My husband is Rich Williams.... like I said has been there for years..so long in fact, I get asked all the time if I am part of the McBride family LOL

RE: Boxers??

We have a 5 year old male, Sir Brutus of Williams (or Brutus for short), and he is probably the second best dog we have owned. (I say second best because the first was our "baby" Duchess Bailee Von Williams - a rottweiler with a heart of gold.) His only flaw is that he likes to hike his leg on my french doors :( I was a little worried about getting one since they have a reputation of being kind of hyper - Brutus is not. but he can be if he wants to be. he LOVES to run - so its a good thing we have a large yard. he has been wonderful with the kids, loves to play ball and "takle" with them. they are a wonderful family dog and I would recommend the breed to anyone. We are glad we made the choice to get one.

RE: WW Kitchen Faucet Issue...

I hated the "plastic" faucet they used in our WW.. so I had hubby replace it with a "regular" kitchen faucet with sprayer and it is so much better. have never had any problems with it.

RE: Loyall dog food

If you are a member of Sam's Club, try their store brand. It's much cheaper than a premium dog food and just as nutritious. I use the Sam's Club "high energy" food(cant remember what they call it - blue bag about $21/50lbs). my dogs both seem to like it. I have a 6month old neapolitan mastiff and 5 year old boxer. Vet says both are extremely healthy and doing well.
